Privacy Policy
Job Fit Check ("the extension," "we," "us") is a Chrome extension that scores your resume against job descriptions and helps autofill job application forms. This page explains what data the extension accesses, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
What the extension can access
Job Fit Check requests broad browser permissions so it can detect job application forms on any site you visit and offer to autofill them. Specifically:
- Page content detection — a lightweight script checks whether the current page looks like a job application form. This check runs locally in your browser; the content of pages you visit is not sent to our servers as part of this detection step.
- Resume and job description text — text you paste or upload is used to generate your match score and autofill suggestions.
- Form field data — when you use autofill, the extension reads and fills form fields on the current page using answers you've previously provided or saved.

Autofill itself does not require an AI model and runs locally using saved answers — it does not send form data to OpenRouter.
Your OpenRouter API key
To use AI-powered match scoring, you provide your own OpenRouter API key. This key is stored locally in your browser's extension storage and is sent only to OpenRouter to authenticate your requests. We do not have access to your key and cannot see your OpenRouter usage or billing.
Data we store
If you create an account, we store the minimum data needed to operate the extension: your email address, saved resumes or profile answers you choose to save, and your match history if you use that feature. This data is stored with Supabase, our backend provider.
Data we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not read or transmit the content of pages you browse, beyond the local on-page detection described above.
- We do not share your resume or job description content with anyone other than the third-party services listed above, which are required for the extension to function.
Your choices
You can delete your saved resumes, answers, and account data at any time from within the extension. You can remove your OpenRouter API key from extension storage at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data from your browser.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the extension changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above.
